Not long ago I was having a conversation with one of my oldest friends about life and in this discussion he said, "Morgan, you can have whatever you want". Immediately, I answered somewhat bitterly that I couldn't have whatever I wanted and I had proof of that. There are things that I want in this life that I just can't have. I don't know the reason and in some cases I probably don't deserve to get what I want. Now, don't get me wrong I am not complaining. It is just interesting to me. There are a lot of things that I want for my life, good things even, that will just never happen. I can accept that. But sometimes it is hard and sometimes I don't understand. Lately, I have been thinking a lot about this conversation. I know what I want but at times I am unsure how to get there. I love my life and marvel at the opportunities that I have had so I don't want to sound ungrateful, but its true. I have struggled recently feeling guilty or stupid for wanting more, but I feel justified. I want good things, I want challenges, I want growth just in a new way. I was reading recently in one of my favorite chapters in the scriptures and came to an interesting realization. The Lord was talking to Nephi(son of Helaman) and told him that all would be done according to his will. This blessing of having every word he said fulfilled was given to him because the Lord knew that he would do nothing that would go against the will of the Lord. It hit me that its true, I can have whatever I want, but I have to make sure that what I want is what the Lord wants as well. Of course, that is what I have always wanted but it is not always so simple. So for now, since I am not getting what I want right now, I have decided to do all I can to really seek out what the Lord wants for me. In the process, I know I will find greater peace and hope in the sadness or disappointment that comes with not getting what I want right now. I am just glad that there is someone much smarter than me, and He is in charge. It is just going to take a little more humility to accept His will.

Real Life or a Movie?
Have you ever sat back examining your life and thought, "Wow, this would make a great movie!". I love looking at my life and adding my own soundtrack to it but lately I think this might be a hit at Sundance. With a beautiful location for shooting, I see the film full of funny quirks, drama, unrequited love, great friendships and pure comedy! I must mention that of course, life is life. I work full-time, so I am not a beach bum, even if I want to be, but I do have it pretty good down here. I live on the beach, just taking out the garbage is great because of the great view of the pacific ocean. I get to go jogging on or along the beach without hassle, I can go to Disneyland after work, and last weekend I went out on a beautiful yacht with a lot of good looking people. (If you want to hear a great story, ask me in person about the crazy porn star on the boat next to us.) I am still adjusting of course and finding my place here, but so far, its great! This is where I need to be. It definitely won't be easy but then again, easy never sells on the big screen!

A True Friend...
So one of my dearest friends sent me this quote today and I thought it really fit me.
True friends are those who, when you make a fool of yourself, don't believe that this condition is permanent. — Erwin T. Randall
If this isn't the story of my life, what is? I am an intelligent person, but I do a lot of idiotic things. I am one of those people, who looks back and thinks, "oops, I really shouldn't have done that", especially when it comes to saying things to boys(I mean MEN, that I like). I revert to a 16 year old trying to flirt,(I never really learned how to flirt I guess), and say stupid things. I have a habit of getting really excited over little things and making a fool of myself on a regular basis. I love to dance in public, sing in the car, and speak in accents(even though they are bad) to name a few of the things that I do to make a fool of myself. But it is good to know that there are a select few out there that still love me DESPITE my quirks! So those of you who feel like bolting from the friendship, do it now and I will know where we stand! ;)
P.S. Puglet- You know I only love you more when you make a fool of yourself and I actually hope that the condition is permanent!

The Time Has Come...

After 25 years of dedicated residency, Morgan Dawn McArthur is leaving the great state of Utah! Yes, I know there are a lot of you who thought it would never happen, I worried about it as well. But no, it is time and I am departing. I will surely miss my dear friends, my family and come fall, BYU football, but it is for the best. I have contemplated destinations for a long time and finally made the decision. I am headed to Orange County, California. I have decided to pursue my dream of becoming a professional surfer and figure there is no better place!;) Just kidding, I wish! I am however, excited to be near to the beach, Disneyland and best of all, there will be NO SNOW! I will miss you all but hope that we can keep in touch and if you are ever down south, give me a ring!

The Wilted Flowers
In recent months, we have realized that our group of friends is getting older and older. We are all single and maybe too comfortable in our singlehood. Over Christmas, Aaron and I were chatting when he came up with the idea of the "Wilted Flowers". It is our new exclusive club for old folks like ourselves. We are "menaces to society" that don't really mind. We complain about our aches and pains, go to bed early, and have yet to fulfill our parents hopes of providing grandchildren. However, we are INCREDIBLY funny, attractive with a lot to offer. The problem is that we just haven't decided who we want to offer it to! :) Since Aaron, Tawni and I are basically the founding members (don't worry Aaron- you get credit for the name) I made a little collague for our new club! I must mention, in our defense that like these flowers, although wilted, there is always an element of amazing beauty and intrigue. We are the exact same way! Who wouldn't want us?

My Favorite Kids!!
So Corby let me know that I have not added any pictures of him on my blog. I told him to send me one and I would dedicate a whole post to the Baldwins. I have yet to receive said picture but I will let you know that they are my favorite people with the MOST ADORABLE KIDS. For visual proof of this statement, look at their blog. I love those kids! I can only hope that I will have equally adorable offspring!

"Such a lovely place, such a lovely face"
Recently, I took a little weekend getaway to the OC with my roomie, Erin. It was a much needed vacation, even though it rained the entire weekend. One of my best friends, Aaron, was kind enough to let us stay with him and it was a blast. We started the trip off with a trip to see Wicked. We were worried for a time that we wouldn't make it because of traffic, but the monster ballads kept us calm, and we made it just in the nick of time! It was a great show! We ate Wahoo's, shopped a little, and of course, hit DISNEYLAND! I don't know what it is about that place, but it just makes me giddy! It really is the happiest place on earth! It may have rained all day, but we didn't let that stop us. We hit all the major attractions and enjoyed a few of the classic treats as well. I love California, it was the perfect weekend escape! It only makes you want to go back! And in fact, I am, next weekend! :)

Tagged? I Don't Even Know What that Means.
Alright, I have been tagged. I am still getting used to this blogging thing, but apparently, I must tell you even more uninteresting facts about myself. A big "gracias" to Tiff for tagging me(I'll get you my pretty!) So here goes:
10 Years Ago:
I was an awkward junior high student that spent the majority of her life at Jazz'n Place dance studio, either taking class or teaching it. I was preparing for what I thought would be the biggest years of my life~HIGH SCHOOL! I was waiting to drive, get my braces off, have my first kiss(which wasn't all it was cracked up to be-sorry I hope he never reads this)and start dating (if I would've known what it entails, I wouldn't have started!:))
5 Things on my "To-Do" list today:
1. Finish up the presentation I am working on for work.
2. Go running! (I am in training)
3. Finish planning my seminary lesson for tomorrow
4. PACK-I am going to California manana!!!! YAHOO!!!!
5. Clean my room- I can't take it anymore!
I Enjoy...
Truthfully, I enjoy a lot of things. I love music, especially live music (I am a concert junkie and I have seen some great shows lately), movies, Gilmore Girls (more of an obsession really), reading a good book, the beach, sun, warmth, summer (can you tell I am so done with winter?), exercising, being with friends and family, watching football, March Madness, Asian food and well the list goes on.
What Would I Do If I Was Suddenly a Billionaire?
Go to Honduras and Belize! I would buy a beach house there and in Huntington Beach. I would start a microfinance corporation of my own and travel to third world countries to personally see how to better help them become self-reliant. Buy a house and pay off the mortgages of my family members. I would love to travel, I really want to hit all seven continents before I die. I also think it would be cool to see all the temples in the world. I can't say I know what I would do with the rest because that is really more money than I would ever know what to do with.
5 Jobs I Have Had:
1. Account Manager at BTH2 marketing company
2. Spanish/RC teacher at the MTC
3. Manager at American Eagle Outfitters
4. "Bag Boy" at Riverside Country Club (and I am still the best they ever had)
5. Dance teacher
So now you know a little bit more about me, I pass this on to Pug, Linz and Carolynn.

Biting Off More Than I Can Chew?
Do you ever feel like you are taking on too much? I have been so extremely busy lately with my various commitments and I feel that way at times. I love being busy, don't get me wrong, but I need a few more hours in the day! I am really enjoying the new experiences that I am getting in the BIG BAD world, but I will say here and now, after the last few weeks, I need a vacation!!! Other than the crazy need for a vacation, life is great! I have been busy and therefore, have not spent much time blogging and I will apologize for that. So to all of you looking for updates, there isn't much to say, other than I work, teach seminary and run! Yeah for me! I will give a better update asap!

Saying Goodbye

As most of you know, our dear Prophet recently passed away. He will be dearly missed. I am forever grateful for his influence, guidance, love and sense of humor. I was sent this poem and thought it was very true to life. We love you President Hinckley and hope you are enjoying the reunion.
Prophetic Passing
I imagine he's running to Marjorie now,
Yes, running, not waving his cane.
I see him embracing his father and mother
While they keep repeating his name.
I see him now meeting his forebears,
Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.
Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service
That only such noble men share.
I see him embraced by the Savior
While Father says, "Good and well done.
So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome
My noble, most excellent son."
I then hear the ripples of laughter
As he says the reception's just fine,
But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two
Since there's no need to waste any time.
I can hear his clear voice in the stillness
At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,
Have faith and move forward - there's work to be done.
President Hinckley would want it that way.
