Happy Birthday to Me!

Another year has come and gone! I can't believe it! As of Sept 29, I am a year older and hopefully a year wiser! This year, because of a sad event that occurred the night before my birthday, I was not really in the mood for celebration. However, my wonderful friends spoiled me and made it an incredible day.

Ali and I were able to get in a little Disneyland time! I loved it!

After our Disney adventure, I was treated to a very posh dinner cruising through the bay on a duffy boat!

Redge was an amazing captain!

I love my girls!!!

Isnt' my roomie adorable? I am lucky!

The day was wonderful. Disneyland, Duffy boats, lots of Mango desserts and INCREDIBLE friends! I am sure 27 is going to be a great year!

Family...Isn't It About Time

In September, I had the opportunity to go home to visit my family twice. Once planned, the second visit unexpected, but I was glad to be there and see my family and dear friends. It was also nice to be able to see a little live BYU football in action, even if it was a heartbreaking loss!

My dear friend Emily and her son Andrew

While I was home the first time, my bro took us out for a day one the lake. It was quite the adventure since the battery on the boat died twice! Luckily we are really good at flagging other boats down! Despite the slight delays, we had a great time and got to do a little wakesurfing!

Here we are flagging down other boats, Bergen was a huge help!

My sunglasses were a huge hit with Andelin and Bergen, good thing I had two pair!

Here we are surfing, I am definitely not an expert, but I loved it!

Thanks Corb and Carolynn for taking us out. Thanks Mom and Dad for letting me come home and visit!

True Love Returns...

There is one love in my life that has stayed constant and true. No matter where I am, what I have done, or how I look, it always comes back. Every fall, the love of my life(up to this point) comes back and brings me true happiness.

Yes BYU football-I love you! And I am not afraid to admit it! We are off to a good start, and I am not going to get too hyped or arrogant. I understand its only been one game! It was a great one though! What a way to start!

So many great memories have been made in Cougar/Edwards Stadium! It will always hold a special place in my heart. Thanks for coming back. I missed you!

I Freakin Love You

This last weekend, my friend April and I decided to have a day long adventure in Los Angeles. We played the day by ear and did whatever we tickled our fancy. Randomness ensued as usual with me and it was a FANTABULOUS day!
It started with a workout lead by the ONE,
the ONLY RiChArD SiMmOnS!!!!

He owns a studio in Beverly Hills and when we found out about the class he taught we knew we had to go! He was absolutely CRAZY but we loved the class. He kept pulling up his shorts and screaming things like, " I freakin love you" or "You're gonna make me throw up". Surprisingly, his pep talk at the end was quite inspirational!
We weren't too sure he liked us since at one point he called us "too sassy"!

When we were talking this picture Richard told me why I wasn't married! This is how it played out!

Richard: "Do you have a handsome boyfriend?"
Me: "Not at the moment!" (I proceed to wrap my leg around Richard, smile
and take the photo)
Richard:"Well I can tell you why."
Me:"Ok?!?!" (insert awkward laugh)
Richard: "You're too put together, you intimidate men."
Me:"I guess I should take that as a compliment?"(insert very awkward laugh)

I don't really know how to take that comment considering the source but it was really funny!

We had lunch at the Farmers Market in The Grove. Then we headed to Hollywood Blvd to pay tribute to MJ on his birthday. It was really hot and ended up even running through the fountains!

Did you know I had my own place on the Walk of Fame? I am kind of a big deal!

Oh and by the way, its September...Southern California is on fire again!

If you want to see more pics from the day, check out April's post.

Family...Isn't It About Time?

A few weeks ago, my family came to town. We had a fun and relaxing time, even without hitting up Disneyland! (Much to Chandler's chagrin!) I dont' have many pics from the trip so I am waiting for Ashlee to send them to me! Once I have them I will post!

We went to the beach, an amazing Dodger game, the Getty Museum and the Grove. Ashlee and Chandler went to the Jonas Brothers concert while my mom, dad and I went to see Topol in Fiddler on the Roof. It was amazing! I would highly recommend it!

Our State Fair is A Great State Fair

The fair is in town and is providing a lot of entertainment these days. (Sorry Steel Days, this really beats you out, but your carny corndogs will always hold a special place in my heart!)
Since the fair came to down we have:

Eaten lots of junk, including DELICIOUS funnel cakes...

And more funnel cakes...

Witnessed some "world class" Lucha Libre..NACHOOOOOOOOOOO!

Attended the Kelly Clarkson concert with some of my favorite girls

Danced and sang our hearts out to our pal Kel C.

Kelly definitely did NOT disappoint! She was incredible! I was a fan before, but now I might consider myself on the verge of a diehard!

And of course, attended the demolition derby...

We had such a blast at the demo derby, I think this may be a new favorite event for all of us. I know I personally want to become a driver! :)

Thanks OC Fair, its been fun! See you next year!

Don't You Want Me Baby?

What do you do on a Saturday night when you are in your mid-twenties, LDS and single?

Well a few weeks ago, we decided to relive the past for a night by attending a 80's Prom theme party. It was a blast finding outfits, curling and ratting our hair, applying WAY TOO MUCH makeup and using more AquaNet than is probably environmently friendly! :)

DINEYLAND!!!

As some of you may know, at Disneyland this year you get in free on your birthday. Ashlee decided that this year she was taking advantage of such a celebration. And lucky for me, she convinced Corb and Carolynn to join! It was such a blast having Ash, Chan and the Baldwins in town! Sometimes, you need a big dose of family time! I loved showing them around my hood, getting some good beach time and of course, DISNEYLAND!(aka Dineyland) There were lots of good times and pics as well, so here is a little taste for you!

Checking out the fishies at Fashion Island

Beach Time!!!!
Morgan and Bergie

Check out those smashball skills!

Corby creating a Mermaid Masterpiece

Nothing better than a day at the beach!

For Ash's Birthday O'Fun, we started off with a pancake breakfast and a little birthday cake...

Bergen and I pregamed with a little wrestling match...

We put on our Disneyland smiles...

And played all the day long!!!!

To Infinity and BEYOND.....

Bergen, Grace and I had some fun times while the "big kids" were on the rides

Cade was our hero that day when he was chosen to battle with Darth Vader and WON! Nice job buddy!

We had such a blast riding around all day at Disneyland!

Cade really tackled the GIANT rice krispy treat!

Bergen and I after a LONG couple days at Disney!

Andelin and I going "mad" on the tea cups!

Here is the entire birthday celebration crew! Love you guys!

I was so grateful to have them come and visit! I love my whole family very much and had a blast playing with them! Please come back again soon! I miss you!

I know I went picture posting crazy, BUT these kids are so DARN CUTE! I have to add one more little collage! I love the many faces of my little Grace! Isn't she adorable?

The REAL Office

About a month ago, my company hosted a party at an HR conference in San Diego. A few of us were invited to go down and represent. It was a lot of fun as the guest entertainer for the evening was the one and only Creed Bratton. If you don't know who that is, maybe you should catch up on your pop culture and watch "The Office". What most people don't know is that he spent most of his life as a musician. He played some old "Grass Roots" tunes and told some really entertaining stories. Most of all, I was entertained watching my co-worker, Amie (his daughter) dance to his tunes. It was a great night! Thanks Creed!
